TL;DR
What is Glif's AI modeling agency?
Glif, an AI creative app, launched an "AI modeling agency" with 165 made-up AI people who can star in your ads. A small business can now get a product video from one photo, with no shoot. Try it for trial ads, but label AI people where platforms ask and never pass them off as real customers.
What did Glif launch?
On Friday, October 30, 2026, Glif announced what it calls "the first AI modeling agency" inside its app. The idea: you browse a cast of AI characters, pick one, add your product and a short brief, and Glif's chat assistant produces the content from start to finish.
The cast itself isn't brand new. Glif introduced it as Glif Characters on September 28 with "150+" faces. The characters page now lists 165, and Friday's launch packages them as an agency you can "cast" from.

When Glif says "real AI models," it means AI characters. None of the 165 is a real person.
What can the AI models make?
Glif's page shows three sample ads, each starring a character from the cast:
- An unboxing from one phone photo. A character named Freja holds a chunky sneaker up to the camera, laces it up and checks the mirror in a 15-second clip. Glif calls this style UGC, short for user-generated content: the casual, filmed-on-a-phone look of a real customer's video.
- A full app ad. Carys tells a five-scene story to camera for a study app, with captions on every line, a testimonial and an end card in the brand's colors. It runs 30 seconds.
- A musical ad for a shop. Realla sings a verse and a chorus from behind a shop counter, and Glif also makes the matching window poster and social posts.
Each character has a profile with a casting age, height, look and languages. Behind the scenes, every character carries a reference sheet, a set of pictures from the front, side and over the shoulder, which Glif hands to the image or video model so the same face shows up in every shot, even when the character moves and talks.
Glif names the AI models it uses for these samples: Seedance 2.5 for video, GPT Image 2.5 for images and ElevenLabs Music for the song. Since an October 26 update, you can also create your own character from as little as one image.
How much does Glif's AI modeling agency cost?
Glif doesn't say. Neither the characters page nor the changelog lists a price for casting characters or making these ads. Plenty of posts on X are sharing promo codes and free-month offers, but Glif doesn't mention them on its own pages.
Can you use AI people in ads?
Glif says every character is "original and ready to use in any ad." The bigger questions come from the places you'll run the ad.
Meta (Facebook and Instagram) adds an AI label next to "Sponsored" on ads made with its own AI tools that include a photorealistic AI person. In an update this June, Meta said it's also starting to detect ads made with outside AI tools and add an "AI info" label under "About this ad," according to its transparency post.
YouTube asks creators to disclose realistic synthetic content that viewers could mistake for a real person, place or event, per YouTube Help.
The FTC's rule on reviews and testimonials makes it illegal for a business to create a consumer testimonial that misrepresents that the person exists or used the product (16 CFR 465.2). An AI character holding your sneaker is fine. An AI character saying "I wore these for a month and my back pain is gone," presented as a real customer, is the kind of ad that rule targets. Glif's own study-app sample includes a testimonial, so that's the format to handle with care.
Our take
For a small shop or a solo creator, this is useful for one job: trying ideas fast. Booking a model and a photographer to find out whether an unboxing video beats a product shot is a big bet for a small business. Making five rough versions with AI people, running them for a few days and then paying a real person to shoot the winner is a smarter use of a small ad budget.
We'd stop short of letting an AI person speak for your customers. Shoppers are getting better at spotting synthetic faces, a platform label can pop up next to your ad anyway, and a fake "customer" can cost you more trust than the ad earns. Use AI people as presenters and models, keep testimonials for real customers with real names, and don't launch anything until Glif publishes clear prices and usage terms.

What to do now
- Browse the cast on Glif's characters page and watch the three sample ads before you sign up for anything.
- Use AI people for early concept ideas and product demos, then put real budget behind the version that works.
- Keep testimonials and reviews for real customers only, whatever tool makes the video.
- Turn on the AI disclosure when Meta or YouTube asks for it, and note which tool and character made each ad.
- Compare it with AI presenter tools like HeyGen and Synthesia, which focus on talking-head videos.
FAQ
Are Glif's AI models real people?
No. Glif describes them as original AI characters. Its launch post calls them "real AI models," meaning they're ready to use, not that they're real humans.
Can I make an AI version of myself or my staff in Glif?
Glif says that since October 26, 2026 you can create your own character from as little as one image. Only do that with photos of people who've agreed to it.
Will the same AI model look the same across my ads?
That's the point of Glif's reference sheets. Each character's front, side and over-the-shoulder views go to the video model so the face stays consistent across a series, including when the character talks.
What AI video model does Glif use?
For its sample ads, Glif lists Seedance 2.5 for video, GPT Image 2.5 for images and ElevenLabs Music for songs.
