TL;DR
What did u/rajuvanne use Gemini for?
Told that an expensive travel insurance policy was mandatory for an education loan, a student uploaded the loan sanction letter and the policy to Gemini, which showed only the cover assigned to the lender was required, and used AI-drafted emails to get the optional policy canceled and refunded. They say the nodal officer approved the refund 15 days after their first email, and the money was put toward their loan principal.
What they did
When their education loan came through in India, the lender's sales officer insisted a bundle of insurance policies was required. Afterward they uploaded the loan sanction letter and the policies to Gemini. It pointed out that the letter only required cover assigned to the lender (life and property), so the travel policy was optional, and it cited the regulator's free-look period for returning a new policy. They kept the required cover, asked to cancel only the travel policy, then escalated to the lender's nodal officer with AI-drafted emails that quoted the rules.
How it went
They say the nodal officer approved the refund 15 days after their first email, and the money was put toward their loan principal.
"₹53,000 was credited back and adjusted against my loan principal."

Worth knowing
- Their case depended on Indian rules and on what their own loan letter said. Rules and free-look windows differ by country and policy, so check the wording yourself, act inside the deadline, and don't drop cover the lender really requires.

I've uploaded my loan agreement and the insurance policies I was sold with it. Which policies does the agreement actually require, and which look optional? Quote the exact clauses, tell me if there's a window to cancel a new policy for a refund where I live, and draft a short, polite cancellation email I can check before sending.
