TL;DR
What did RazeDen (@razeden0) use Grok for?
Worried that social apps were listening to him, an iPhone owner turned on the built-in App Privacy Report, exported a week of data and gave it to Grok to see which apps used the mic, location and contacts and which servers they contacted. He says that seven days after the changes, the number of tracking servers in the report dropped from 61 to 9.
What they did
He turned on the iPhone's App Privacy Report (in Settings, under Privacy & Security), waited seven days, exported the file and gave it to his Grok bot. The 12,914-line file showed how often TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and Snapchat used the microphone, 1,288 location checks, and 214 servers contacted, 61 of them ad and tracking companies. He then turned off app tracking, set location to Never for those four apps, removed their contacts access and limited the mic to apps he actually talks into.
How it went
He says that seven days after the changes, the number of tracking servers in the report dropped from 61 to 9.
Worth knowing
- The report shows when apps touched the mic or which servers they contacted, not what they recorded, so it does not prove an app is listening to you. The export holds personal details, so think about what you upload.
- Price check: Grok: free plan; Plus (The X Subscription): US$8/month, or US$6.67/month on a yearly plan (US$80/year) (checked Nov 2, 2026).

Here is my iPhone App Privacy Report export. List which apps used my microphone, camera, location and contacts and how often, show the ad and tracking servers each app contacted, and give me a short list of permission changes to make, starting with the ones that cut the most tracking.
More people who did this
- Ochob (@0chob) (X, Nov 1, 2026): Gave Grok Bot seven months of the iPhone's Significant Locations history; it picked out gym days, regular clinic visits and other routines, so they switched the feature off and cleared the history.
