TL;DR
What did u/ITGuyInMass use ChatGPT for?
An IT managed-services owner who had paid for HaloPSA for about two years without configuring it wrote down their workflow, answered a 65-question questionnaire from ChatGPT, and let its browser agent set up billing, tickets, agreements and invoices while logging every change in a spreadsheet. They say it's doing an amazing job so far, covering work they hadn't found time for and setups their implementation partner had pushed back on.
What they did
They wrote down everything they wanted HaloPSA to do and how they wanted their workflow to run, within the product's feature set. ChatGPT connects to their instance through a browser and does the configuration: billing, tickets, multiple agreements per client, products, custom invoices and estimates, checks before syncing with QuickBooks, and confirming connections with their monitoring tools. It logs everything in a spreadsheet for future reference. They check in during the day and answer the odd question.

Worth knowing
- This was in progress when they posted. A HaloPSA consultant in the thread warned that AI tends to overcomplicate ticket types, forms and custom fields, and that the API can easily break things. They had once bricked a development instance. Another commenter found ChatGPT wrong too often on Halo questions.

I want to set up [software] to match how my business works. Before changing anything, ask me every question you need about my workflow, one section at a time. Then write a numbered setup plan and wait for my OK. As you make each change, add a row to a log with the date, the setting, the old value and the new value.
