TL;DR

What did James Johnston (@Mav_Millwork) use Grok Bot for?

The owner of a millwork drafting business connected Grok Bot to his business email to turn quote requests into tasks, then to his website to add page titles, alt text and a sitemap that Google had been missing. Before, the pages had no search titles or descriptions, 91 of 94 images had no alt text, and only 2 of the 7 pages showed up in Google. He calls it "a massive help to my business."

What they did

He connected Grok Bot to his business email. It watches for new clients asking for quotes, creates a project folder from the details in the email, adds a task to his kanban board, assigns the right person, and reminds him when he has taken too long to reply. He also connected it to his website, which a web designer had built earlier. It added search titles and descriptions to all 7 pages, added alt text to the images, added business info for Google to read, submitted the sitemap to Google Search Console, and pointed old links that led to error pages at the right pages.

How it went

Before, the pages had no search titles or descriptions, 91 of 94 images had no alt text, and only 2 of the 7 pages showed up in Google. He calls it "a massive help to my business."

Worth knowing

  • It is one owner's first couple of weeks. Giving an assistant access to your inbox and website means it can change things, so review what it edits on the site and keep a backup first. Google can take a while to show pages after a sitemap is submitted.
  • Price check: Grok: free plan; Plus (The X Subscription): US$8/month, or US$6.67/month on a yearly plan (US$80/year) (checked Oct 28, 2026).

Try it yourself

Check my business inbox each morning for new quote requests. For each one, create a project folder named after the client with the details from the email, add a task to my board, and tell me who it should go to. If I haven't replied to a quote request within 2 business days, remind me.
