TL;DR
What did Jerad Larkin use Claude Desktop for?
A title company rep who teaches AI classes to real estate agents gave Claude Desktop folder access and a long-video-to-short-clips skill, and it found and edited 26 clips with hooks and B-roll from two recorded classes. From a 54-minute class and a 46-minute class, Claude "found and edited 26 video clips," adding B-roll and reformatting them on brand. They say they no longer need a paid clipping service.
What they did
They opened the Claude desktop app, used the plus button to give Claude access to the folder holding their recorded classes, and uploaded a skill under Customize, Skills. On first run the skill asks intake questions about who they are, brand colors and how they like videos edited, then saves those answers into itself. Claude transcribes the long video, reads the transcript for hooks and stories, proposes clips between 10 and 90 seconds, and edits the approved ones.

Worth knowing
- It needs the desktop app and at least a Claude Pro plan; they recommend the top Opus model. Clips still need human approval before editing, and the skill is meant to be changed to fit your style.
- Price check: Claude: free plan; Pro: US$20/month, or US$17/month on a yearly plan (US$200/year) (checked Nov 1, 2026).

Read the videos in this folder. Transcribe each one, then find 10 to 15 moments between 10 and 90 seconds long that open with a strong hook or a short story and end on a clear point. List them with start and end times and the hook line, and wait for my approval before editing any.
