TL;DR

What did u/Objective-Rip-7268 use ChatGPT for?

A creator used a ChatGPT dot working in Blender on its cloud computer to reverse-engineer the camera work, blocking and timing of a movie scene into a simple 3D previs, refining it over about 11 rounds of small changes. They ended up with an editable previs they can inspect and revise, and the overlay shows the remaining differences in poses, contact points and timing. They plan to use it as motion and camera reference for AI video tools, but say they have not shown that step working yet.

What they did

They had a ChatGPT dot work in Blender on its cloud computer and directed it in natural language to rebuild the Quicksilver rescue sequence from X-Men: Apocalypse as an editable 3D scene. Simple models and consistent character colors made the action easy to follow across cuts. After about 11 rounds of small changes, they stacked the original footage, a 50/50 overlay and the Blender previs to compare them.

How it went

They ended up with an editable previs they can inspect and revise, and the overlay shows the remaining differences in poses, contact points and timing. They plan to use it as motion and camera reference for AI video tools, but say they have not shown that step working yet.

Worth knowing

  • This needs a paid ChatGPT plan with dots. They saw minimal extra usage on their own subscription but say that is not a guarantee for everyone. The result is rough previs with simple shapes, not finished animation, and copyrighted footage should only be used as private reference.

Try it yourself

Paste this into a chatbot, then add your own details underneath.

Open Blender and build a rough previs of this scene: [describe the shot, characters, camera moves and timing]. Use simple shapes with one solid color per character, match the camera angle and lens for each cut, and render a short preview. Then list what still differs from my description so I can tell you what to fix next.
