Rock and metal creator writes Suno v6 prompts that give every instrument a job

What they did

They describe the sound rather than just the genre, and write the style prompt in a set order: genre and one or two influences, vocals, drums, guitars, bass, arrangement and energy, production, ending. They describe what each instrument plays (for example "continuous heavy guitar riffs and melodic leads throughout the verses"), keep lyrics to simple tags like [Verse 1], [Chorus], [Instrumental Outro] and [End], and add "Complete the final vocal line before a short instrumental outro and a clean ending" when songs get cut off. They change one setting at a time, starting Weirdness around 0–30% for controlled results, and save every prompt, lyric and setting that works.

How it went

They say it gives more consistent results and can save time and credits, while stressing that none of it removes the randomness.

Worth knowing

• The post is unofficial and shares no audio examples, which several commenters criticized. Other metal creators in the thread say v6 still falls apart late in songs however they prompt, and one says they stopped using it for now.
• Price check: Suno: free plan; Pro: US$10/month, or US$8/month on a yearly plan (US$96/year) (checked Oct 26, 2026).
