TL;DR
What did Heaston Innovations use Claude Code for?
A podcast host built a Claude Code skill that takes the raw recording files, joins them, adds captions, balances audio and color, suggests intro clips, and sends a Telegram message when the episode is ready to check. An episode from a conversation of almost an hour and a half gets edited and prepped while they do other things. They say it took two or three hours to set up and another two or three of tweaking to get right.
What they did
They ask Claude to load their podcast editing skill and paste in the file paths for the episode, which was recorded in three parts. Claude Code joins the parts into one video, creates captions and an SRT file, evens out loudness and color, and suggests clip art, screenshots and intro clips. When it finishes it messages them on Telegram, and it uploads to YouTube through an API key after they check it. For problem spots they ask it to send a short clip of that section to Telegram so they can watch it on their phone and tell it what to fix.
How it went
An episode from a conversation of almost an hour and a half gets edited and prepped while they do other things. They say it took two or three hours to set up and another two or three of tweaking to get right.
Worth knowing
- They say it isn't perfect: they still watch the video and tell it where intros and cuts should go. Full episodes are too large to send through Telegram, so they review problem sections as short clips. Long recordings take a while to process.
- Price check: Claude: free plan; Pro: US$20/month, or US$17/month on a yearly plan (US$200/year) (checked Nov 1, 2026).

I record a video podcast and want to automate the edit with Claude Code. Help me write a skill that takes my recording files, joins them in order, creates captions as an SRT file, evens out the audio loudness, and lists suggested intro clips with timestamps. Ask me about my file formats and folder setup first, and have it stop for my review before anything is uploaded.
