TL;DR
What did u/Ok_Loan6535 use NotebookLM for?
A business owner put company policies, work instructions and procedures into NotebookLM, made it the company's central info center, and requires employees to chat with it before bringing questions to them.
What they did
They uploaded their company policies, work instructions and procedures into a NotebookLM notebook and shared it with employees as the company's central info center. The rule is that staff chat with the notebook first, before asking the owner.
How it went
They call it the company's "new central info center."
Worth knowing
- Answers are only as good as the documents, so old or conflicting SOPs give wrong answers. One commenter suggests watching for questions it can't answer well and fixing the source files. Anyone the notebook is shared with can read the sources. NotebookLM is now also called Gemini Notebook.
Try it yourself
Paste this into a chatbot, then add your own details underneath.
Answer staff questions using only the policies and procedures in this notebook. Quote the document and section you used. If the answer is not in the sources, say "Not covered, ask a manager" instead of guessing.
