A 100-minute episode turned into 10 clips in about an hour
TL;DR
What did u/herrdan use Claude for?
A podcaster reads through the transcript with Claude to pick clip moments, then has Claude send the cut list to Descript. They say they approve about 10 candidate moments instead of reviewing 30 weak auto clips.
What they did
Instead of letting an auto-clipping tool choose, they give Claude the full transcript. Claude surfaces 8 to 10 candidate moments with the exact wording, they go through them one by one, ask for more context or have Claude stitch separate segments into a tighter story, and once a cut is locked Claude pushes the instructions to Descript, where the composition is ready.
How it went
They say they approve about 10 candidate moments instead of reviewing 30 weak auto clips.

Here is the full transcript of my podcast episode with timestamps. Find 8 to 10 moments that would work as standalone 30 to 60 second clips. For each, quote the exact words, give start and end times, and say why it works without the rest of the episode.
