TL;DR
What did David Dal Busco use Claude for?
A freelance developer who kept forgetting to send their newsletter set up a GitHub Action that has Claude write a short newsletter from each new blog post, saves it as a Mailchimp draft, and waits for them to tap Approve in Telegram. Nothing goes out until they tap Approve, and they no longer have to remember to send the newsletter or use Mailchimp's interface. They shared both parts as open-source projects.
What they did
When a new post is merged into their blog repo, a GitHub Action finds the added post, sends it to Claude with a prompt asking for a short, punchy newsletter, and creates a draft campaign in Mailchimp. They then get a Telegram message with the subject, preview text and three buttons: Send Test Email, Discard, and Approve & Send. A small Cloudflare Worker handles the button taps. The prompt lives in its own Markdown file with placeholders for the author, audience and posts, so it can be changed without touching the code.
How it went
Nothing goes out until they tap Approve, and they no longer have to remember to send the newsletter or use Mailchimp's interface. They shared both parts as open-source projects.
Worth knowing
- This needs a developer setup: a blog stored in GitHub, API keys for Claude, Mailchimp and Telegram, and your own copy of the Worker. Claude sometimes wrapped its answer in code formatting even when told not to, so they strip that out before using it.
