Working parent uses ChatGPT to design a custom-themed 10th birthday party with character cards, clue cards and storyboards

What they did

For their daughter's 10th birthday, they used ChatGPT to help create a custom theme around everything she loves. It helped make a character card for each guest with a companion, a magical item, strengths and weaknesses and a shared mission to uncover the birthday girl's missing power. They also made a set of clue cards for a hunt around the house ending in a power reveal and gift, and short storyboard adventures starring the kids, which they posted on the wall. They printed everything and added handmade crafts.

How it went

They say it helped a lot: as a full-time working parent of three, most of the work came down to printing and setting up. The video shows the kids solving the clues and reaching the reveal.

Worth knowing

• They say it wasn't perfect and AI doesn't always capture what you picture, and that they still value real artists' work. The clue hunt needs the cards hidden in advance.
