TL;DR

What did Kate Hayes use Claude for?

A Canva creator connects Claude to Canva, asks for a design "using my Canva brand kit", revises it in chat, and has Claude export the finished file as a PDF without opening Canva. Claude generated four on-brand options in Canva, applied the requested changes, and produced a downloadable PDF, with the design also saved in their Canva account.

What they did

They add the Canva connector in Claude's connector settings and choose which Canva actions Claude may take automatically and which need approval each time. Then they prompt, for example, "Create a family command center printable in Canva using my Canva brand kit" with sections for a weekly schedule, meal plan, grocery list and notes, clean modern style, soft warm colors, letter size. Claude pulls the fonts and colors from the brand kit, returns four options, takes revisions (a kids' activity section, fill-in lines on the grocery list), and exports the chosen design as a PDF. They also ask for a set of five matching Instagram post templates.

How it went

Claude generated four on-brand options in Canva, applied the requested changes, and produced a downloadable PDF, with the design also saved in their Canva account.

Worth knowing

  • They stress that a generic prompt gives a generic design, so it needs details on audience, style, colors, size and layout. Claude asks for approval on any Canva action that isn't set to always allow.
  • Price check: Claude: free plan; Pro: US$20/month, or US$17/month on a yearly plan (US$200/year) (checked Nov 1, 2026); Canva: free plan; Canva Pro: US$18/month, or US$12/month on a yearly plan (US$144/year) (checked Oct 26, 2026).
