TL;DR

What did James Pelton use Claude Code for?

After building a talk deck on a flight with Claude Code and Gamma, a speaker had Claude export it to PDF and look at each page as an image, which caught their own notes printed on the slides. Claude spotted that "your third example and your fourth example" from their notes had landed on a slide, and flagged slide 10, where a placeholder note to screenshot an answer was still on the slide. They say they would have called the deck ready to present.

What they did

They connected Claude Code to Gamma through its MCP server, gave it their outline, and had the deck ready by landing. Then they had Claude export the slides to a PDF, turn every page into an image and look at each one "the way someone in the audience would see it."

How it went

Claude spotted that "your third example and your fourth example" from their notes had landed on a slide, and flagged slide 10, where a placeholder note to screenshot an answer was still on the slide. They say they would have called the deck ready to present.

Worth knowing

  • The first pass in the editor looked fine and missed both problems; only the image-by-image review caught them. The video is sponsored by Gamma.
  • Price check: Claude: free plan; Pro: US$20/month, or US$17/month on a yearly plan (US$200/year) (checked Nov 1, 2026); Gamma: free plan; Plus: US$12/month, or US$9/month on a yearly plan (US$108/year) (checked Oct 25, 2026).

Try it yourself

Paste this into a chatbot, then add your own details underneath.

Export this deck to PDF and look at each page as an image at normal screen size, like someone in the audience. For every slide, list anything that looks like a leftover note, placeholder, typo, cut-off text or an image that doesn't fit, with the slide number.
