Claude, Telegram, Gmail, Google Docs

TL;DR
What did Alex Willen (The Automated Operator) use Claude for?
An Amazon seller added a returns feature to their own Claude-powered Telegram and email bot: they send photos of the returned item, sticker and return slip, and it reads the tiny IDs and emails back a ready-to-file reimbursement case. They still open the Amazon case by hand, but say the case-filing part now takes a few minutes a month.
What they did
They made a Google Doc with sample photos and the exact text Amazon support needs (return shipment ID, LPN, removal order ID, FNSKU and condition), then wrote a short spec asking Claude to add the feature to their existing family bot and to ask questions and plan before building. They agreed on triggers: emailing a +returns address, or typing "return" in Telegram and "go" when all photos are sent. Claude reads the photos, classifies the product, checks the IDs against lists pulled from Amazon each morning, and emails them a message titled with the brand and LPN with the photos attached.
How it went
They still open the Amazon case by hand, but say the case-filing part now takes a few minutes a month.
Worth knowing
- The removal order ID was misread a couple of times early on, which is why it is matched against Amazon's own list. Amazon has no API for support cases, and they chose not to have a bot file cases through the browser.
- Price check: Claude: free plan; Pro: US$20/month, or US$17/month on a yearly plan (US$200/year) (checked Nov 1, 2026).

I want to add a feature to my bot that helps me get reimbursed for Amazon returns. I'll send photos of the returned product, the LPN sticker and the return slip. Extract the return shipment ID, LPN, removal order ID and FNSKU, write a one-line condition note, and email me the details with the photos attached. Here's an example of inputs and output: [doc link]. Ask me questions, then build a plan before implementing.
